My dadaji turned 78!

Recently, my dadji turned 78 years old! He is 72 years older than me!!
Isn't that amazing?

Usually, my dad's side is a little too subdued in celebrating events.
I have been able to change this by introducing the concept of cake cutting and getting together as a family.

I took Dad along to the market and selected a beautiful yellow cake (strawberry was not available)...

Dadaji was very happy when we surprised him with the cake, and had a wide smile on his face for the entire evening :-) It was worth the effort!

Best wishes to Dadaji for many more such happy birthday events!

Be healthy!

Both Daddy and me have decided to increase our health quotient!
Here's us after a long 21 kms run!
We look tired, but let me assure that it was a very satisfying experience...

Now that I think of it, it wasn't 21 kms. I guess it was 210 meters :-)
Just kidding!

Rock n Roll

The year is almost about to get over...
Seemingly, it has been an eventful year with economies going through financial crisis...

Daddy taught me that we should take all this in our stride, and move on in life...
The mantra is rock n roll!

If you really want to understand this fully, you need to 'just do it'!
You bend your body, and put your head on the ground. Done?

Now, you push the rest of your body ahead and roll :-)
Do it ith a big smile!

Tell me how you felt after doing this.
I am sure you would be feeling much better!

Whenever you feel low, try this technique.
It works! Always!

The mother of all math tests!!

Daddy was in a mood to teach me some Math.
I was in a mood to eat an ice-cream!!

The twain had to meet, and hence I negotiated that after the teaching session, I will submit myself to the most rigorous test that he can create on a piece of paper, on the concept of addition. If I answer all questions correctly, I will get what I want/deserve!!

I did not factor in the fact that he is my daddy!! I was expecting him to create a test paper of 10 questions (standard format), but he created 5 columns and put in 40 questions instead!! Smart move, I must say.

However, I was not too perturbed, and handled one question at a time.
The results were satisfactory. Daddy tried to find a mistake with a magnifying glass, but could not.

So, the evening walk experience became even better with the entire family going for a walk and celebrate with an ice-cream treat!!

Daddy says, he will create something similar on the concept of subtraction.
My take is 'we will cross the bridge when we reach it...'

Hard work pays...

All these spelling tests that me and dad did, was a good experience.

Recently, some guys from MaRRS came to my school to conduct an inter-school competition.
The first round was done to select the children who would go to the next round...

I think I did well....
They gave me a certificate for it.

Daddy was told in the PTA that I will need to participate in the next level next month.
We will cross the bridge when we reach it, I guess :-)

Spelling test

These days, I am fascinated with spellings.

I must say that English is a funny language. I recently learnt that the word 'documents' is spelt the way it is...I thought it was 'do q mens'.

But since English is a language that you cannot do without, I have decided to put in some effort!

One of the ways I usually evaluate my performance is by putting myself through a rigorous testing process. So I enrolled daddy to prepare the test.

And quite a test he prepared, I must say!!
I had to really sit down, think carefully before I got started...

I was a little worked up initially, but then settled down as I gained confidence after attempting the first few words. I have a feeling that daddy was kind enough to throw in some easy words before increasing the difficulty levels...

As you would notice below, the final results were satisfactory...

This time, I surprised daddy by not asking him for an ice-cream, or a donut.
Instead, I asked him to read me a few books :-)

This was just a way to spend some quality time together...

Post script by Daddy: Apologies for this late entry. This test was attempted a few months back, but daddy procrastinated suitably and sat on this post suitably well...
