Merry X'Mas!! I had fun

On X'mas eve, I was invited to Daddy's office for a painting competition!! I had my afternoon siesta, got ready in my red dress and wore my red santa cap. Thought this might liven up the office folks (you see, financial services businesses are going thro' a rough patch & need some livening up!).

Another good thing was that I got to travel in an auto rickshaw!! It was nice to have the breeze blowing thro' my hair...

Reached in time. Was thrilled to see daddy waiting for us.

He took me to his seat and I was allowed to take his place for some time. Well, I did contribute by clearing a few mails for him!!

Before we got started on the paintings, I did my mandatory warm-up. This helps me become more flexible and also helps me get my creative juices flowing.

I picked an abstract concept. My crayons helped me translate my thoughts into a myriad of colours...all finally merging into this esoteric concept called 'Green Revolution'!!

Mamma was a little confused and kept asking me for ideas. I did not disappoint her and gave her a simple concept called woman empowerment. She gladly accepted the idea and did a decent job :-)

The other babies were mesmerised with my concept!!

Folks at Dad's office said that I did an MF Hussain :-) They might just frame it & put it up in the director's office.

I think it was ok.
I think Mamma liked my work.
We had guests in the evening. Udit Uncle & Swati aunty. They are pretty cool.

I taught Swati aunty a few things about animals, alphabets & stuff. I must say that she is a keen learner!

Guess she was a bit foxed because of information overload!! Have decided to go slow & take her through these books in a phased manner...

Picnic!!

We all went to daddy's office picnic party last saturday!! Momma & Daddy woke me up early morning exitedly shouting PICNIC PICNIC!! I joined in and quickly chik-chiked my teeth and had my bath in a jiffy. I have a suspicion that all this excitement was created so that I get ready quickly.

Are we there yet?

Finally, we made it to the resort...

Jayden baby wore a nice Tee

Found a new friend: Manju didi!!

The water was really cold!!

Frolicking with Daddy
Kritika in her cosy pad

I don't like this jacket one bit!!

This is better!!

Post swimming, I exercised my calf muscles by climbing up and down a 1000 times!!

Also got an opportunity to catch up with Daddy

It was time for some fluid intake. Tropicana or Breezer? That was the question...

Guess Jayden baby had a breezer and he was comfortable after that!!

And it was time to leave...

It was a good good day!!

Pihu ko gussa aaya

It seems to the mood of the season (maybe a few seasons)...

She's become the angry young women!! Always losing her temper at anything... not being able to put her shoes on by herself, daddy smiling, daddy talking to mumma or vice versa... the list is endless

Guess this too shall pass :-)

Innocent until proven otherwise!

What do you do when you are alone in the loo, with no one to control your natural self??
Well, the answer is.... you take advantage of it.
What do you if you are caught in the act?
Well, you avoid eye contact and do not take any responsibility for your actions!!

Blood on the floor: Terror in Mumbai

We expect a lot of changes in the way things are... around us, in people... mostly external in nature.

Can we introspect & see what we can change within ourselves? Small things like giving & accepting bribes :-) I am sure that there were a few people, who were bribed, who provided support to the terrorists.

Can we be more concerned about others? Look at the news channels who were fighting with each other, to be the first to give the latest update on terrorist locations, how the NSG was conducting its ops... etc etc. Can we rise above this and not worry about who gets the credit, and do our job seriously!

I read this line somewhere... "Try and change yourself. That way when you go to bed at night, your sure that there's one less rascal on this earth"!!!

Pihu wears Prada

Well, actually not :-) It was just an attention grabber.

Yesterday, she wore a dress gifted to her by none other than Mudasir!! Which is as good as wearing Prada!! For those who came in late, Mudasir had dropped in from Dubai to meet the young lady (refer a very old blog named 'Mudasir meets Pihu' (Oct 2007). The dress was a wee bit longer/larger. I am pleased to inform readers that it was worth the wait!!!

Since she was quite thrilled with her new dress, and the matching pink sandles, we decided to celebrate by eating out at Pizzahut...

which meant waiting for the Pizzaas...

sipping on masala lemonade...

checking the status with mamma every 2 minutes....

munching on some snacks....thank mamma that she carries some goodies in the diaper bag

making new friends...who already had their fill!!!

jogging to distract the mind from the tummy!!

climbing all possible railings...

Finally!!! The Pizzas got delivered!!

And they were good!!!

A happy well-fed family outside Pizzahut!!

Happy Diwali!

Our living room looked all decked up!! Here is a stitched version of around 15 snaps put together :-)

Dressing up was a task in itself... matching the bindi with the dress

And the bangles...

The output was good. Even Mamma managed to look good (please do not compare the two of us)

Mamma did a lot of work preparing for the Puja...

After the Puja was over, we wished our neighbours. Candy was the first to have the privilege of meeting me! Guess the feeling was mutual.

The second day was also very interesting!! We visited a few more people, & had dadaji and gang from Thane for dinner!!

Me with myself

Me with the women-folk

Me with the men-folk

Overall a peaceful Diwali!!

When the going gets tough, the tough get going

That's what they taught my dad when he was doing his commando training in the army!

This seems to be a time like that. The sensex is going down 1000 points a day, companies are crumbling like a pack of cards...

What do you do in such a situation? Here is a 5 pronged approach to survive:

1. Take stock of the situation

2. Look at the problem straight in the eye, and make it wilt!

3. Do your research while your competitors are sleeping

4. Assess the damage

5. Be stoic, be positive, and get on with life!!
